What a great service! Got the number from the store I bought my Appliance from. Called Tony, left a message and got a call back the same day,. We made an appointment at my convenience , he was on time, polite, knew what the problem was almost immediately, service performed and dryer running great!

I called and they were able to come out the same day. The problem was diagnosed right away. He asked if I had another fridge I could put the food in so the fridge could defrost overnight. I said I did not but knew people who had room and coolers I could use. He said to not do that. They would come the next day with equipment that could defrost the fridge quickly. They came at the time they said they would both days. They were professional and considerate of my time.

Ice maker repair in Tampa Bay starts with an $89 diagnostic. Most failures come down to one of four things: the ice maker module, the water inlet valve, a frozen fill tube, or a failed ice maker control board. In the majority of cases it's a single part — a $15–$60 valve or module. The refrigerator stays. Call (727) 222-9892 before 10:00 AM for same-day service most days.

Samsung and LG French door models account for the majority of ice maker calls we see in Tampa Bay. On Samsung French door refrigerators, the upper ice maker in the left door fails at a higher rate than any other configuration. The ice maker control board stops running the harvest cycle — cubes freeze into a solid block instead of dropping individually. We carry the Samsung ice maker assembly on the truck at this point. Planned component, not a surprise.

Florida's hard water accelerates inlet valve failure faster than in most states. Mineral deposits build up inside the valve's solenoid over time, restricting water flow or causing the valve to stick open. Restricted flow produces hollow or undersized cubes before the valve fails completely. A stuck-open valve lets water drip into the freezer after each fill cycle — it pools on the floor and can seep out beneath the refrigerator. Annual descaling of the water line extends valve life. It's the same reason ice makers fail earlier here than in states with softer water.

A frozen fill tube is different from a component failure. The tube that feeds water into the ice mold freezes solid because of a defrost problem upstream in the refrigerator — not because the tube itself is broken. Thawing the tube treats the symptom. Diagnosing and repairing the defrost heater, thermostat, or timer stops it from coming back. We assess the defrost system at every ice maker call.

We repair both residential refrigerator ice makers and standalone under-counter and countertop ice machines. Brands we work on regularly: Samsung, LG, Whirlpool, GE, KitchenAid, Frigidaire, Maytag, and Scotsman. The $89 diagnostic applies toward the repair. Twelve-month warranty on parts and labor.

When You Need It /

Signs You Need Ice Maker Repair

Ice Maker Stopped Producing Ice Entirely

Most common causes: the ice maker module has failed, the water inlet valve has closed completely, or the fill tube is frozen solid. The $89 diagnostic distinguishes between all three. A failed ice maker module is a one-visit repair in most cases.

Ice Cubes Are Small, Hollow, or Misshapen

A water inlet valve that's partially failing lets through less water than the ice mold needs. Cubes form but are undersized or hollow. The valve is the repair — a $20–$60 part, one visit.

Samsung Ice Maker Produces a Solid Block Instead of Cubes

On Samsung French door models, the ice maker control board fails and the harvest cycle stops releasing cubes. They freeze together into a solid block. The ice maker assembly or the control board inside it is the repair.

Ice Maker Runs but Makes No Ice

The motor cycles through the harvest motion but no water enters or no cubes drop. Could be the inlet valve, a failed ejector motor, or a frozen fill tube. We test each in sequence.

Water Leaking from the Ice Maker or Pooling Under the Refrigerator

A stuck-open water inlet valve lets water dribble into the ice maker after the fill cycle ends. The mold overflows, water runs into the freezer floor, and can seep out under the unit. The valve is almost always the source.

Ice Has an Unusual Taste or Smell

Mineral buildup and mold inside the ice maker mold or water line affect taste and smell before any mechanical failure occurs. A cleaning and descaling service resolves it in one visit. If the taste returns within a month, the refrigerator's water filter is overdue for replacement.

FAQ /

Frequently Asked Questions

Why did my ice maker stop working?

Four common causes: the ice maker module failed, the water inlet valve closed or is failing, the fill tube froze solid, or — on Samsung models — the ice maker control board failed. The $89 diagnostic identifies which one.

Is ice maker repair worth it?

In most cases, yes. The module, water inlet valve, and fill tube repairs cost $120–$250. A new refrigerator starts at $800 and up. For a unit under ten years old, repair almost always makes more financial sense.

Why is my Samsung ice maker making a solid block instead of cubes?

The ice maker control board is failing — the harvest cycle isn't releasing the cubes on schedule so they freeze together. The ice maker assembly or its internal control board is the repair.

How long does ice maker repair take?

The diagnostic takes about an hour. Most repairs are completed the same visit. The ice maker resumes normal production within 24 hours after repair — it needs one full cycle to start making ice again.

Do you repair standalone ice machines as well as refrigerator ice makers?

Yes. Residential countertop and under-counter ice machines in addition to built-in refrigerator ice makers. Call with the brand and model and we confirm parts availability before scheduling.

Why does my ice taste bad or have a strange smell?

Mineral buildup and mold inside the ice maker mold or water line are the most common causes. A cleaning and descaling service resolves it. If the taste returns quickly, the refrigerator's water filter is overdue for replacement — most filters need changing every six months.
